Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club Silverbacks 1st squad

Yateley Silverbacks 1st Men's Team
Silverbacks 1st Silverbacks 1st

Captain : Kolby Pistak

Morgan Connor
6'1'' Forward
Morgan is currently the youngest Silverback on the clubs roster. Introduced to the club by his work colleague 'Big Jack' Vaughan he impressed offensively during the pre-season Woodley tournament and earned a place in the
2nds squad. Morgan possess a scorers mentality (in fact he hasn't yet been seen passing the ball!) and with some coaching and experience in local league basketball coming up he has a bright future ahead of him in the game.
Pete Daines

Pete is the founder and the chairman of the Yateley Silverbacks. He has won numerous titles and awards during his 19 years in the Wessex league playing for 3 different clubs -  some as a player and some as a player/coach. Pete is a 5 times Silverbacks Players' Player of the Year and the 2015 MVP. He is the England U16 Team Manager/Pathway coordinator and has led the national team as Head of delegation at 3 European Championships. The bronze medal won in Macedonia in 2014 is the highlight of his basketball career.

Pete has also coached school teams to 2 National titles, a London Borough Championship and has just set up and coaches the Silverbacks U12s. These days on court Pete is a steady point guard who's drives to the basket and scoring are becoming rarer and rarer, with too many minutes on his rebuilt knees, but he still claims to be the best passer in the Wessex league! #

Philip Nockles
At 6' 2" and around 95kg, Phil is a Guard/Forward with a history of success at junior and senior levels. His basketball CV is impressive: Thames Valley Tigers U12-U15s, Berkshire U15s, Berkshire Schools U15s, South England U15s, Reading Rockets U16-18 conference, Reading Rockets Div 4 & Reading Rockets Div 1. Honours include: Thames Valley U14 CVL Winners, Tigers U14 Most Improved Player award, Reading Rockets U18 Conference Runners Up, Rockets U18 Coaches player, Rockets Div 4 Most Improved 2009, Rockets Div 4 Coaches Player 2010, Rockets Div 4 Most Improved 2011, Rockets Div 4 Coaches Player 2012, Rockets Div 4 Most Improved 2013, EBL Div 1 League and Playoff Champions 2013, Rockets Div 4 Coaches Player 2014... wow!
Steve Vaughan
6' 11" Forward
Jack's 'little' brother joined the club in 2012 from EBL Div 1 side, Reading Rockets. He felt that after working hard on his game and never missing training he might actually enjoy some court time! A rare breed in the Wessex League, a big man who can play inside or all the way out to stroke threes, we expect a minimum average of a double double from Steve.
