Big man Steve Vaughan topped out a great weekend for the Silverbacks with a massive 43 point game against the Basingstoke Blizzards. He lead the charge as the Silverbacks 1st team won the game by 76 points to 56.
The previous club record was 42 points, set by Rod Wellington playing for the 3rd team - and the best 1sts performance had been 38 points, set by Barney Bailey. This was a great individual performance supported by the whole team -who gave Steve a well deserved round of applause as he came off in the last minute having passed the record. Well done Steve!
The first team victory followed a rare win for the ladies team against the Reading Rockets. This win was also coached by Pete Daines, who had a great day at the office. Katie Hancock was just one point short of the ladies individual club record with 22 points; and due to her late arrival - that was all in the second half. Again - a fantastic team effort underpinned this individual performance- and the ladies team were delighted with the win.
On Friday evening, all 3 of the junior teams won their respective matches in the Bracknell CVL - each team beating a team from the Bracknell Cobras. The U14s and U16s were in action in the Oxford CVL on Saturday as well, securing one win and one loss each. Well done juniors!
